Act of Contrition

Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, known and unknown, not only because I dread the loss of heaven and dread the pains of hell, and not only because Thou art my Creator, my Redeemer and my Sanctifier, but most of all because my sins have offended Thee, my God, Who art all good in Thyself and deserving of all my love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life.

Amen.

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; I believe that Thy divine Son became man, and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.

Amen

Angelus

V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary...
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done to me according to thy word.
Hail Mary...
V. And the Word was made flesh.
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of his resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malignant enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me.
And bid me to come to Thee.
That with Thy Saints I may praise Thee
Forever and ever.

Amen.

Apostle's Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.  On the third day he arose from the dead; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  He shall come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and in life everlasting.

Amen

Confiteor

I confess to Almighty God, to blessed Mary ever Virgin, to blessed Michael the Archangel, to blessed John the Baptist, to the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and to all the saints, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin, blessed Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the saints, to pray to the Lord our God for me.
May Almighty God have mercy on me, forgive me my sins, and bring me to everlasting life.

Amen.

May the Almighty and merciful Lord grant me pardon, absolution, and remission of all my sins.

Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope.  To you do we cry poor banished children of Eve.  To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.  Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.  Oh clement, oh loving, oh sweet Virgin Mary.  Pray for us oh holy Mother of God, that we made be worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Amen

The Memorare of St. Bernard

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you O Virgin of virgins, my mother.  To you I come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy, hear and answer me.

Amen

Morning Offering

Oh my Jesus I give to you this day, all I do and think and say; uniting all with what was done on earth, by Jesus Christ Your Son our Lord.

Amen

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.  Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou Oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen

Prayers for the Souls in Purgatory

O gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, Have mercy on them.  Be not severe in Your judgments, but let some drops of Your Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames.  And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light and peace.

Amen

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said:

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory.

Amen

St. Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.... May you be content knowing you are a child of God.... Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen

To Good Saint Anne

Glorious St. Anne, we think of you as filled with compassion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer.  Heavily laden with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to take the present affair which I commend to you under your special protection (name it).

Deign to commend it to your daughter, our Blessed Lady, and lay it before the throne of Jesus, so that He ma bring it to a happy conclusion.  Cease not to intercede for me until my request is granted.  Above all, obtain for me the grace of one day beholding my God face to face.  With you and Mary and all the saints, may I praise and bless Him for all eternity.

Amen

Good St. Anne, mother of her who is our life, our sweetness and our hope, pray for me.

Prayer for Relief from Persecution

Psalm 71

In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue and deliver me; listen to me and save me!
Be my rock and refuge, my secure stronghold; for you are my rock and fortress.
My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of the violent.
You are my hope, Lord; my trust, GOD, from my youth.
On you I depend since birth; from my mother's womb you are my strength; my hope in you never wavers.
I have become a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge!
My mouth shall be filled with your praise, shall sing your glory every day.
Do not cast me aside in my old age; as my strength fails, do not forsake me.
For my enemies speak against me; they watch and plot against me.
They say, "God has abandoned that one Pursue, seize the wretch! No one will come to the rescue!"
God, do not stand far from me; my God, hasten to help me.
Bring to a shameful end those who attack me; Cover with contempt and scorn those who seek my ruin.
I will always hope in you and add to all your praise.
My mouth shall proclaim your just deeds, day after day your acts of deliverance, though I cannot number them all.
I will speak of the mighty works of the Lord; O GOD, I will tell of your singular justice.
God, you have taught me from my youth; to this day I proclaim your wondrous deeds.
Now that I am old and gray, do not forsake me, God, That I may proclaim your might to all generations yet to come, Your power
and justice, God, to the highest heaven. You have done great things; O God, who is your equal?
You have sent me many bitter afflictions, but once more revive me. From the watery depths of the earth once more raise me up.
Restore my honor; turn and comfort me,
That I may praise you with the lyre for your faithfulness, my God, And sing to you with the harp, O Holy One of Israel!
My lips will shout for joy as I sing your praise; my soul, too, which you have redeemed.
Yes, my tongue shall recount your justice day by day. For those who sought my ruin will have been shamed and disgraced.
